Spotlight: Petrosains, The Discovery Centre

Petrosains, The Discovery Centre is one of KL’s top indoor attractions for families—and a great pick if you’re after something educational, air-conditioned, and hands-on.

What we love about Petrosains? Located inside Suria KLCC, this science discovery centre offers an interactive, self-guided experience that covers everything from space and speed to sustainability and robotics. You’ll move through different themed zones on a one-way path filled with levers to pull, puzzles to solve, and buttons to press—most at kid height.

Our five-year-old especially enjoyed the SPARKZ zone with its digital aquarium, stop-motion animation station, and magnetic wall games. We also spent time testing reflexes in the Speed zone and watching her artwork appear on-screen in the Molecule Nano World. For younger ones, there’s plenty to explore visually, even if they’re not quite ready to interact.

We usually spend about two hours here, and each visit has been different depending on age and energy levels. It’s best to book your tickets online or arrive early to secure a time slot, especially during weekends and school holidays.

7 – 9 November – KL Collectors Market at The Linc KL – The crowd favourite is back! Head to Level 2 at The Linc KL for three days of vintage toys, anime figures, pop culture finds, sneakers, and thrift steals from over 50 sellers across Malaysia. Good deals, good vibes, all under one roof.
