Public Holidays in Kuala Lumpur in February 2026:

In February, there are two public holiday periods to plan around in Kuala Lumpur, starting right at the beginning of the month.

Sunday, 1 February is a particularly busy day, as it marks both Thaipusam and Federal Territory Day, which fall on the same date this year. Because both are officially observed on a Sunday, Monday is taken as a replacement public holiday, giving many families a long weekend. There are also rumours that the government may declare Tuesday a public holiday as well, though this has not been confirmed at the time of writing.

Later in the month, Chinese New Year falls on Tuesday and Wednesday, 17 & 18 February, bringing another public holiday break and plenty of festive celebrations around the city.
