Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is the best place to have a daycation with the whole family. Spend a day (or an entire weekend) going from park to park and have the time of your life at the water playgrounds and in the park’s roller coasters!

First, let’s check out all the attractions in the park. Here’s everything you can expect from your trip to Sunway Lagoon.

Note, we visited Sunway Lagoon with a 3-year-old, so we didn’t enjoy all the seven parks. However, we did go around to check out all the different adventure zones for the purpose of writing this Sunway Lagoon review.

Sunway Lagoon Park Guide: Explore Seven Different Worlds

1. Sunway Lagoon Water Park

Escape the heat and take on the Sunway Lagoon Water Park! Plenty of water slides are in store, including the Waters of Africa, African Python with loops, and more, up the level in the Congo Challenge, wherein you ride head first down.

Or conquer the 49-foot (15-meter) drop at the Cameroon Climb and scream for your life as it shoots you back up to 26 feet (8 meters).

Are you in for a ride at the world’s largest vortex ride? Vuvuzula prepares you for an exciting adventure that will churn your stomach. Launching from an 11-story high tower, you will battle the rapid waters through twists and turns.

We skipped most of these slides as we didn’t find them suitable for our three year old.

If you have younger children, you can enjoy the world’s largest surf pool at Sunway Lagoon. Featuring one of Malaysia’s man-made treasures, Sunway Surf Beach. It’s like a vacation at the beach in the middle of the city.

Sunway Lagoon Surfers Beach View

You can relax, or play, on the beach, play beach volleyball, or try surfing and bodyboarding to test your skills on FlowRider. FlowRider is a surf simulator that extends over 13,000 square meters with waves that can reach a height of up to 26 feet (8 meters). It’s a true surfer’s paradise for experienced and beginner surfers.

Other features in the water park are Little Zimbabwe and Waterplexx 5D. Little Zimbabwe is an interactive playground for kids with fun huts to resemble an African village and Masai warriors that serve as guardians at the entrance.

Waterplexx 5D offers a unique immersive experience with 3D visuals, sound, movement, water jets, mist, fogs, mists, and more. Have the ride of your life through a screen and prepare for a wet and wild adventure.

TIP: Arrive at Sunway Lagoon in the morning and head straight to the water park to enjoy the playgrounds and water rides before the park gets busy.

2. Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park

When we visited, we first went to the Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park. When you enter Sunway Lagoon, you just go straight, and you’ll reach the entrance of the Wildlife Park. When we visited, there were staff members standby to point people in the right direction; either straight to the Wildlife Park or left to take the escalator to the Water Park.

This section of Sunway Lagoon gives you a chance to meet over 150 species of wildlife across the world. It’s an interactive zoo where you can pet some gentle animals, observe wildlife, and explore the habitats of various animals.

If you’re kids are naturally curious about animals, this is the perfect place!

One of our favorites is the Pet Village, where kids can pet and feed rabbits, tortoises, and hamsters at no extra cost.

Wildlife Encounters give you a glimpse of the behavior of wildlife in their habitats. Take a closer look at some of the most majestic and exotic animals like White Tigers, Terrapins, White Lions, and more.

3. Sunway Lost Lagoon

Sunway Lost Lagoon, previously known as Asia’s first Nickelodeon-themed land, is the explorer’s promised land. Here you can get hours of fun and entertainment when you enter the ruins of a long-lost civilization surrounded by towering lush rainforest. The Lost Lagoon wasn’t easy to find (hence the name?)

With over 12 water rides and attractions, your day of non-stop fun is far from over. Splash around and let your inner child out in the Captain’s Splash, or you can join your older kids on another splashing adventure at Splish Splash with interactive water sprays and fantastic water effects.

Looking for something even more intense? The Monsoon 360 is a jaw-dropping ride that takes you to a vertical free fall reaching speeds with a maximum of 60 kph. Blink, and you’ll miss out on this thrilling experience!

Stick with your family and friends here at the Jungle Fury. This ride will unleash the fury of the jungle with surprising drops and plenty of twists and turns. It’s an exciting and exhilarating experience your family can enjoy together.

Kurabango will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions as you are released into a steep drop, then ascend into a near-vertical ride before descending again into a free-falling state and ending up with a big splash!

Enjoy nature in a unique way by taking on the Primoval. It’s another slide with exciting twists and turns but with courses over trees, hills, and gullies. There’s also the Hippo Valley, where you can see some Hippos chilling on the bank and monkeys swinging around trees.

Lastly, the Lost Lagoon also features an Explorer’s Campsite with places to rest or picnic. You can also embark on a trailing expedition at the Camper’s Trail.

Quack Express at Sunway Lagoon

You can take the Quack Express from the Surf Beach to the Lost Lagoon.

To us, it looked like the attractions were not really suitable for smaller kids. So, on our first visit, we skipped the entire section. We also believe it’s no longer the Nickelodeon lost lagoon, as we couldn’t find any information about this partnership.

4. Sunway Lagoon Amusement Park

Finally, an attraction that doesn’t get you wet, the Sunway Lagoon Amusement Park!

The amusement park features kid-friendly rides like the Carousel, Apache Pots, and Wagon Wheel. Or visit the Wilford Theme Park Store and watch your kid’s eyes light up as they see all the cool and amazing toys.

Carousel at Sunway Lagoon

Ahoy there! Board the Pirate’s Revenge ride and get ready to bust your lungs out screaming while this pirate ship takes you for a 360-degree spin!

Ready to test your fear of heights? Suspended 60 feet above the lake, you can get a bird’s eye view of the whole park in the Pedestrian Suspension Bridge. It’s 1404 feet (428 meters), earning the Malaysia Book of Records Holder for the longest bridge in the world.

Another lung-busting ride is the Lost City of Gold Scream Coaster. Buckle up and hang on tightly because you’re in for a rollercoaster!

5. Sunway Lagoon Extreme Park (aka Sunway Lagoon X Park)

Sunway Lagoon Extreme Park, more famously known as Sunway Lagoon X Park, is for the daredevils and those looking for an adrenaline rush. While younger children won’t be allowed in these attractions, our daughter did enjoy watching adrenaline junkies bungee jump and seeing Asia’s highest slingshot.

The G-Force X ride brings the X in extreme, as you get propelled to the sky within seconds and at 120 kilometers per hour. It’s undoubtedly a heartstopping ride of a lifetime.

Older kids (and adults) who feel the need for speed can try the Go Kart. Here they can race with their friends and place their bets to see who will bring home the bacon.

Not looking to pump the brakes in extreme sports but want to take on other more chill activities? Then you can go for the less intense bungee jumping at the Bungy Trampoline or practice your target shooting skills in Archery or Paintball Target Shooting. You can also go kayaking or pedal boating with your family.

6. Sunway Lagoon Scream Park

Unleash the scream queen in you and enter the bone-chilling depths of Sunway Lagoon Scream Park. Again, not a section of the park we explored ourselves yet, but it did look really cool from the outside.

Sharknado Alive! takes you to a terrifying but fin-tastic studio tour on an Asylum Studios Soundstage. You will go through 15 minutes of thrilling scenes from the Sharknado movies and discover the scenic elements in the whole franchise.
