Our Review of Petrosains, The Discovery Centre

We had an absolute blast when we visited. When the friendly staff offered us the option to join the dark ride called the “Energy Capsule” we immediately said yes and so we started with the Energy Capsule, and though the information shared didn’t really register for our 3 years old, she really enjoyed the ride, the lights, and the special effects. For us adults, we both enjoyed the journey through time and hear about how energy evolved from fire to green energy and an audio-visual display of futuristic technology.

After the time capsule, we went to Sparkz and the other exhibits of the science discovery center. Our daughter enjoyed exploring the different stations at Sparkz. For her, it was just that: play. For us, however, we were thinking about getting a membership already because it’s a really cool way of introducing youngsters to the wonders of science.

Having fun at the Petrosains Discovery Centre in Kuala Lumpur

The Space exhibition was very nice, including the wind tunnel where you can experience what a tropical storm is like.

Another fun part of the experience was the speed exhibition, where you get an inside look into Formula One cars. Our daughter is too young to do the simulator, but the friendly staff did allow us to have her picture taken.

Overall, we had a great educational experience and a lot of fun, and we would definitely recommend a visit to Petrosains. We recommend you go in the morning if you want to avoid the crowd or in the afternoon if you want to get out of the KL heat. Either way, plan a lunch at Suria KLCC mall’s food court or any of the restaurants in the mall.
