We recently stayed at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur as part of a family getaway and our daughter’s birthday celebration. The hotel’s modern design, central location, and thoughtful service made it a great choice for families. Here’s everything you need to know before booking your stay.

Suria KLCC & KLCC Park – Home to Petrosains, The Discovery Centre and Aquaria KLCC, both perfect for children who love hands-on learning and marine life. KLCC Park also features a playground and a free wading pool, ideal for younger kids.
Pavilion KL & Bukit Bintang – A quick ride away, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment for all ages.

Note: The KLCC Park playground temporarily closed due to maintenance and upgrade works. Signs in the park indicate that the closure will last until 29 March 2027.

Spacious Rooms with a City View

For our stay, we booked a suite, which provided plenty of space for a family. The separate living area made it easy to accommodate an extra bed for our older child, while a baby cot was provided in the bedroom.

The hotel offers several dining options, catering to different tastes.

Il Forno – This Italian restaurant was the highlight of our stay, with handmade pasta and wood-fired pizzas. It was an easy choice for our daughter’s birthday dinner.
Buffet Breakfast – A wide selection of fresh fruit, pastries, local dishes, and made-to-order eggs, making it easy to find something for everyone.
TanBuri – Serves South Asian-inspired dishes, including naan sandwiches and tandoori rice bowls.
@21 Rooftop Lounge – A great spot for parents to relax, with a poolside setting and city views.

One of our favorite dishes at Il Forno was the 1-meter-long appetizer platter, perfect for sharing and sampling a variety of flavors. The wood-fired pizza, fermented for 36 hours before baking, was another standout. Watching the chefs in the open kitchen added to the experience, especially for kids who love seeing food being prepared.

Rooftop Pool with a View

While Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur does not have a dedicated kids’ club or play area, the rooftop swimming pool is a highlight.

The shallow section makes it a safe space for younger kids to splash around.
@21 Rooftop Lounge serves poolside food and drinks, allowing parents to unwind while the kids swim.
The fitness center is well-equipped for those who want to keep up with their workout routine.

The hotel’s focus is more on city convenience than on-site entertainment, but with so many family-friendly attractions nearby, there’s no shortage of things to do.

Service and Overall Experience

The service at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur was excellent. From check-in to dining, the staff was attentive and detail-oriented.

Thoughtful touches – Personalized welcome cards for our daughters added a special touch.
Helpful staff – The team had the extra bed and baby cot set up before we arrived.
Great dining service – At Il Forno, the staff surprised our daughter with a birthday cake and a cheerful rendition of “Happy Birthday”, making the evening even more special.

Housekeeping was efficient and kept the room well-stocked, ensuring a comfortable stay. While the hotel is not specifically designed for families, the spacious rooms, excellent service, and great dining options made it an ideal choice for a family city stay.
