One of our recent stays was at the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, which quickly stood out for its spacious family-friendly rooms and excellent Kidz Club. When my brother came to visit, we booked a family room in the Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur for his family, mainly because of its convenient location between our apartment and KLCC. It turned out to be a great choice for his stay.

Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur (KL Midtown)
If you’re looking for a hotel in Kuala Lumpur with a family room that actually gives you space to breathe, the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown is one of the best newer options in the city.
We stayed here recently with our 11-month-old and 5-year-old, and what stood out immediately was how well it works for families, especially if you book in the residences tower.
The two-bedroom suites feel more like an apartment than a hotel room, with a separate living and dining area, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a kitchenette. That extra space makes a huge difference when you’re traveling with kids.
But what really sets this hotel apart is the Kidz Club on level 32.
This isn’t just a small playroom. It’s a large, well-designed space with staff on-site and a daily activity schedule, so kids actually stay engaged. For us, it meant we could spend time together as a family without constantly thinking about how to keep the kids entertained.
There are also two swimming pools to choose from, including a rooftop pool in the residences tower with beautiful city views.
One thing to note is the location. The hotel is in Mont Kiara (KL Midtown), which is a popular expat area. You’ll need to rely on Grab to get around, but everything is still within a short drive.
